Eleanor Thain

Hi, I’m the newest of your London ROs, mostly on the “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em’ basis - my husband Philip Thain, has been a Mercedes-Benz fan forever and Club member since 1995. As joint Members, my name has automatically appeared by his since he has been both an RO and MRC. Now I am a London RO, but emphatically not an MRC. I am keen to discover and try out new events and venues for Club Meetings, although I don’t mind return visits to the best ones. I am also keen to get new Club Members to join and existing ones to stay with the Club, and I have a theory that if the events have wider partner and family appeal, this will be more likely. I am living proof of this, and I now encourage our family to join us for outings with the Club. As well as helping my fellow ROs with organising and managing London Region activities, I am Editor of the “ClubNews” eNewsletter and I also help to proofread the Club Gazette every month. I’m a Driver, not a Polisher (or even Washer). My everyday car is a ULEZ compliant W208 CLK 320, although my favourite car to drive/pose about in, is our metallic red 280 SE 3.5. I drove this, and Philip drove his Fintail to Berlin in 2011, with all four of our children. I hope to see you soon at one of our events - all Club members are welcome - and I love going to other Region’s events - to meet old and new friends and steal their best ideas for events!
